Managing the Arts may be over, but its success still lives on. With over 17,000 registrants from over 170 different countries, the course was a unique multicultural online learning experience.
The MOOC began on February 19, 2015. By the first day of the course, over 16,000 people had registered and began tweeting about the course using the hashtag #GoetheMOOC.

"Managing the Arts" consisted of 6 phases, during each of which students had to work together in teams to submit an assignment. The assignments were then evaluated by the course mentors.

"Managing the Arts" had an impressive 43 percent completion rate and received the Comenius EduMedia Award. Due to requests from participants and supporters, Goethe Institut also created an alumni group on Alumniportal.
