"Futures of the University and Universities of the Future?" was a one-day workshop for experts in digital teaching and learning from both academia and practice. This invitation-only workshop was held on June 22, 2015 in Lüneburg, Germany.
Since the topics of digital teaching and learning are of international importance, we took advantage of digital networks' ability to transcend boundaries by fostering a digital space for collaborative learning among experts, educational mangers, political decision-makers, and other stakeholders. You can view the result of this collaboration on Hackpad.
Moderated by Nishant Shah and Felix C. Seyfarth, the workshop provided a platform for experts to elaborate on the potentials, barriers, and risks for learning and teaching in digital environments. Participants in the workshop shared their experiences during the workshop's eight panels, which addressed the topics of digital content production, legal issues, intentional learning, and more (FutureU Agenda).
The workshop also offered participants the opportunity to reflect on Leuphana Digital School's Mentored Open Online Course approach and university cooperation in the education sector, topics which will be illustrated in reports by Shah and Seyfarth on the course "Managing the Arts: Marketing for Cultural Organizations."
